Medical School: Oregon Health & Science University

Undergraduate: USC

Hello, I feel excited and fortunate to be joining the UCSD Family Medicine program! I spent most of my life living in Portland, Oregon in the majestic Pacific Northwest, where I completed medical school at Oregon Health & Science University. I am thrilled to be headed back to the sunny Southern California area, where I previously completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California, majoring in Health Promotion & Disease Prevention, and minoring in Architecture and Natural Sciences.

What I love about family medicine how much I learn every day from the patients and the people I work with. Within family medicine, I have particular interests in reproductive care and justice for everyone, thoughtful and dignified care at the end of life, and, overall, learning through this wonderful program how to better become a knowledgeable and thoughtful physician for people of all ages and backgrounds.

In my free time I enjoy exploring new restaurants, playing video games with family and friends, watching favorite TV shows with my partner, and playing with our Pomeranian mix. I can’t wait to experience what San Diego has to offer, and to serve its people.

Medical School: UC Irvine

Undergraduate: UC Berkeley

Hi there!! I was born in Sacramento, CA but growing up I spent several years abroad in Taipei, Taiwan. I went to college at UC Berkeley and studied Integrative Biology along with Asian Studies and may or may not have also minored in music! After college I spent 2 years working in clinical research at UCSF before moving to Orange County for medical school at UC Irvine. As I’ve slowly made my way down the West Coast, I am super excited to be at UCSD for residency!

Outside of medicine, I am a total endurance athletics fanatic and outdoors enthusiast. During medical school I was incredibly fortunate to backpack in some of the most beautiful pockets of the world: the John Muir Trail in CA, Teton Crest in WY, Torres Del Paine in Patagonia and race my very first triathlon (which happened to be a 140.6!) and several ultramarathons. I also took a handful of grungy road trips throughout CA, UT, OR, and AZ to run some stunning trails. I am definitely obsessed with nature and sunshine and blue skies :)

I am interested in inpatient medicine, underserved health, and passionate about being an advocate for the communities I serve. I can’t wait to see where this next chapter in San Diego leads!

I find joy in leading an active lifestyle through hiking new trails, dancing to Latin music or traditional Mexican folklorico, and hitting the gym. It's an essential part of my well-being and a creative outlet.

Traveling is another passion of mine, as I love to explore different cultures and experiences, breaking away from routine, and creating lasting memories. I'm particularly drawn to discovering new beaches, exploring historical landmarks, and visiting ancient sites across the globe.

When I'm feeling nostalgic, I enjoy playing video games, especially Nintendo franchises. It's a way for me to connect with my inner child and bond with loved ones who share my passion for gaming.

Medical School: Albany Medical College

Graduate: Clarkson University: MS- Healthcare Management

Undergraduate: Union College

I am so excited to begin my family medicine residency as UCSD! I grew up in Connecticut by the water so I am very much looking forward to experiencing life on the Pacific coast.

Some of my interests include Lifestyle Medicine, in that it allows people to impact their own health in whatever way is most feasible given their set of circumstances. Additionally, I enjoy the unique complexity of Geriatrics, which brings with it a delicate intersection of physical, mental, and social needs. Finally, I would like to be involved with Academic Medicine whether that be through teaching medical students, other residents, or playing a larger role as faculty in a residency program down the line.

Outside of medicine, I love cooking, especially when I get to share that meal with friends and family! For fun, I keep active with different exercise classes or playing some volleyball. I also try to be creative and recently finished making over fifty origami paper cranes to hang around my room!

My Hobbies are spending time with family, friends, our cats, and tending to our garden. Taking advantage of all the opportunities for movement and activity that San Diego has to offer -- running, surfing, tennis, golf, yoga, hiking, etc. Embracing my new identity as a former book-reader, converted to podcast and audiobook listener.

Hello! I am so excited to do my residency training at UCSD :)

I grew up in California, born in SoCal raised in NorCal, and  undergrad at UC Berkeley (go bears!). My time learning about public health there and global health later in graduate school led me to find my calling in medicine. :)

I am stoked to be returning to the west coast after completing medical school on the east, especially to beautiful San Diego! Not only am I Iooking forward to all that Family Medicine has to offer, but also to do so in San Diego where global is truly local. I hope to continue exploring health equity, social drivers of health, full-spectrum care, and advocacy throughout my training.

Outside of residency, I'm excited for all the food and natural beauties in the area :) Otherwise, you can catch me squishing my cat, Mishti, reading, puzzling, doing yoga/barre or grabbing boba with friends!

Undergraduate: UC Berkeley

I call the Bay Area my home, but I was born in LA and grew up in Kuwait for eight years. I come from a huge Filipino American family, where I learned the importance of community.

I attended UC Berkeley for my undergraduate studies and almost became a paleontologist. However, my work with youth from historically marginalized backgrounds changed my trajectory toward medicine. After college, I worked at an Ophthalmology practice and realized I valued forming long-term relationships with my patients.

I stepped into medical school knowing I wanted to do primary care, and I fell in love with Family Medicine. At Stritch, I was the president of the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association, Midwest Co-Chair of the Council of Young Filipinx Americans in Medicine, and a member of the First-Generation Low-Income Committee. My passions include immigrant health, medical education, community collaborations, and anything and everything we do in Family Medicine.

Outside of medicine, I treasure learning my mom’s recipes, walking with my dad, going on adventures with my fianceée, and spending time with my family. I’m a self-proclaimed Star Wars expert and collect Star Wars Legos. I love playing basketball even though I’m not very good. I’m a loyal fan of the Golden State Warriors and the forever Oakland Raiders.

I’m so excited to join the UCSD Family Medicine Residency Program and to be a part of this incredible community!
