Training Program Timeline
The program is designed to be flexible, lasting 1 to 2 years, with the possibility of extension based on the unique needs and progress of each E-STaR Scholar. This personalized approach ensures that each scholar receives the support and time needed to achieve their research and professional goals.
Planning Phase (up to 6 months):
During the planning phase, E-STaR Scholars will:
- Identify a guidance committee, which will include a primary mentor and a local sponsor who holds leadership role in the Center.
- Create a curriculum with courses aligned with AHRQ LHS competencies, with an option to form specialized tracks for more knowledge in biomedical science, informatics, behavioral economics, or population health.
- Have an opportunity to shadow ongoing projects in academic or community partners’ organizations to gain first-hand experiential knowledge.
- Identify a research project topic.
Implementation Phase:
- Write your research protocol and create a detailed project budget.
- Complete relevant coursework to strengthen your methodological and analytical skills.
- Conduct your research, collecting and analyzing data, and collaborate regularly with your guidance committee to review progress and refine your approach.
- Disseminate your findings through scholarly publications and presentations, engaging with community partners to maximize the impact and practical application of your research.
