On December 5, 2025, the UC San Diego Center for Learning Health Systems Science hosted its annual symposium, featuring keynote speaker Haider Warraich, MD (ARPA-H), alongside leaders from UC San Diego Health and Family Health Centers of San Diego.
The symposium highlighted innovative Learning Health System projects aimed at advancing care delivery within UC San Diego Health and showcased the Center’s efforts to train embedded scientists to drive healthcare transformation through continuous learning and evidence-based practice. The program included presentations from the inaugural cohort of E-STaR Scholars, highlighting their projects and contributions (learn more about the scholars on our E-STaR Scholar bio page).
Attendees had the opportunity to connect with colleagues across organizations, and explore strategies for integrating research and practice in real-world healthcare settings.

On August 15, 2024, the UC San Diego Learning Health Systems Science (LHSS) Center hosted its inaugural symposium, bringing together clinicians, researchers, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and share insights in the field of learning health systems science.
